FINE ART METAL PRINT

HD-Metal Print offers a brushed-textured finish. Intensely saturated images and graphics are perform especially well on this medium. The image is directly sublimated onto a pre-treated aluminum panel and is so easy to clean it can be wiped with water or Windex. 

Framed Measurements:

  • Frame: 1.75” deep

  • To create HD Metal Prints, a dye sublimation process is used. Dye sublimation is a process through which an image is infused directly into a substrate. Images are first printed onto transfer paper, which is then adhered to a coated aluminum sheet. The aluminum and the transfer paper are subsequently placed into a heat press, which causes the dyes from the transfer paper to transform into a gas. These gaseous dyes are pressed into the surface of the metal, and as the metal cools, the dyes return to their solid state, becoming permanently infused into the aluminum substrate.

    • ARCHIVAL: HD Metal Prints are more archival than any other traditional print surface. They last approximately 100 years in light before any noticeable color fading occurs, and about 200 years in dark storage. They are temperature, moisture, and scratch-resistant.

    • SCRATCH-RESISTANT: As a result of the dye sublimation process, images are infused beneath the surface of the metal, making our HD Metal Prints more durable than traditional inkjet prints or c-prints.

    • FIRE RETARDANT: HD Metal Prints can withstand high heat.

PAPER PRINT

Premium Luster Photo Paper We chose this paper because it produces vivid, lifelike images that rival those of traditional silver halide prints. It also delivers highly saturated prints by offering maximum ink coverage and a high D-Max for true photographic reproductions. Its 10-mil RC base gives prints a photographic feel and keeps the paper cockle-free. Think of it as a "semi-gloss" or "Lustre" - which is a happy middle ground between a matte (which can look dull & unrefined when framed) and full glossy (which can sometimes stick to the glass when framed). The Lustre finish also has a more pronounced texture which we love!
